After a joint audit of the diplomatic archives of Serbia and Cuba, it was concluded that the two countries have began diplomatic relations on November 4, 1902., with the correspondence of the then King of Serbia, Alexandar Obrenovic and the then President of Cuba Thomas Estrada Palma.

Today, the Director of Directorate for Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gisela Rivera, handed a note-response from the Cuban part to the Ambassador of Serbia in Havana, Danilo Pantovic, wich made this date the official date of establishing diplomatic relations between two countries.

The interlocutors pointed out that Serbia was one of the few countries with whom Cuba had established relatons since its inception (gaining independence), and that next year we will be celebrating 120 years of coperation, wich will be graduated by numerous events.
